Nowadays we can't even respectfully disagree without being dismissed and ridiculed out of hand. Back in Colonial Times if you didn't like someone your options were numerous, including:
Tarring and Feathering
Out on a Rail
and
Burning in Effigy
I like the idea of Burning in Effigy. It gets your point across with suitable violence but doesn't actually hurt anyone (unless your mob gets out of hand)
NOTICE: I am not pointing fingers at any idiots in particular. So don't get all up in a tissy fit if you lean in that direction. Though some people (watch the last thirty seconds or so) do need to get their teeth punched out. But as far as you know, this is all unrelated.
