My brother got a cheese-making book for Christmas, so Wednesday he decided to do something about it. He picked a couple of easy looking recipes and made cheese. It's now in the fridge, looking tasty. I'm glad that he has finally gotten out of the video game 24/7, consumer mentality and is actually
producing things. Especially things like cheese, which he shares with his family!

Oh no...a cheesy gamer on the loose! That's something I've never tried making, let us know how it turns out. Might go good with bacon :)
I purchased a cheese-making book years ago. I have yet to use it...
I'm going to go dig it out now and make some curdled milk.
I would say that my life grows more expensive, but homemade cheese is far cheaper to make than to buy from what I hear.
The two recipes he made were very simple. The first was called queso blanko (I think?) and was just the curds that come off of whole milk at about 200 degrees F when you add vinegar to it slowly. The other used the leftover whey from that which was boiled down into a cheese spread that it very similar to cream cheese. You could probably make those right now, assuming you have some whole milk and a pot to cook it in.
