Two years ago today

My dad died, a month after my younger brother left home for his freshmen year of college, three weeks after turning 50 and two weeks after going to the hospital.  Some sort of rare lymphoma.  My mom got two weeks of the traditional empty nest, before it was suddenly even emptier.

I still sometimes want to ask him a question, and realize I can't.

Two years ago.  Seems like it was longer, seems like it was yesterday.  Memories are weird.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Much belated condolences, bluesun.

I'm a tad older than your Dad was, but if you ever feel the need for questionable advice, feel free to axe.

Sometimes, questionable advice is the kind you need most.

I'm sorry for your loss, bluesun. My mom was diagnosed with cancer right after I started my freshman year of college and died two weeks before finals of my junior year so I can relate a little bit. Some things just suck out loud, and that's all there is to it.

No, sometimes things aren't just duckie.
