New Addition!
At work I've now got a Windows 7 machine (with a 15" Gateway 2000 (!) monitor, just like we had back in highschool), in addition to my little laptop and the ancient Windows 95 desktop. I can actually see pictures in my CAD drawings now!

There are lots of LED LCD 1920x1080 displays on Amazon for less than $200.
I got a 30+inch Hanns*G at Costco for just a couple hundred. Here's a 27inch AOC for $250 - 1920x1080, 60k:1 contrast
I've had satisfaction with Samsungs from Costco.
