RE:M&P, XD9-SC FYI

What with all the luuurve going around with S&W M&P pistols in the gunblogging world of late, I just thought I would point out that my XD9 Subcompact has over a thousand rounds through it now--from nice hollow points, to reloads, to cheap Blazer Aluminum.  I have yet to have had any problems whatsoever.

Just seems like XD's are the gun that people have that they don't want to admit they have. Don't know if it's because they're made in Croatia or what. I, on the other hand, don't even think the subcompact XD is ugly...

Anyway, just thought that I would put that out there...

I wanted to like the M&P. I really wanted to like it.

The triggers suck across the board, I can't even stand the Pro's trigger, they don't feel very good in my hand, the balance is off for me, and they don't point.

I'll stick with Glock, Beretta, 3rd generation Smiths, and wonky early automatics for my autoloading needs.

The thought of making a post just to mock popular handgun designs and loads has been tempting me lately. I am just moody enough that I might do it today.

WV - crainki: Yes, I am.

Isn't it weird how the Word Verification always knows?

If you don't think the XD compact is ugly you are WRONG!!!

Heh, It does seem the M&P is the new Hotness...still you won't see much of people talking about the M&P and the Glock without mentioning the ugly Croatian pistol.

They all work well, and from what I hear the big complaint on the XDs is that grip safety.

Still I've shot a few, they work, and they hold a LOT of pills...also if you have a .45 they make a .460 Rowland kit for it!

Subcompact, Weer'd, SUBCOMPACT. The bigger ones are as ugly as any of the other polymer pistols.

My wife and I both rather like hers. She insisted on the M model, because she preferred the grip texture and swappable backstraps. I don't get the complaints on the grip safety, its less noticeable than even a 1911.

Oh, and I will also say that the grip safety has saved me a ND when I was first starting out. So I like it.

I have the XDM full size and love it! Never any issues. I seriously thought of buying the compact for my carry gun but fell in love with the Kahr PM9 and it's easier for me to conceal on my little midget body! I'd buy another XD of XDM in a heartbeat but have to say I do like the feel of the M&P also.
